Hotel Finkenhof

Family holiday for 5 days I have been coming to Alto Adige for many years, both in winter and summer. The hotel chosen this time however was VERY disappointing. It's true that it costs a little less than others in the same category but in the end it leaves a bad taste in the mouth. There is no trace of the welcome you expect in a 4*. No welcome. Alright... Room, beautiful. Large and sunny terrace. Speaking of wellness: Small and very simple swimming pool, very few seats. Sad... The 2 saunas are on different floors. One on the 3rd floor, the other on the ground. They are of medium quality. The one at 90 without the stove 😳 The external hydromassage operates at 50%. Chronic shortage of towels. No hot drinks. Just a jug of ice water which has nothing to do with saunas. Sufficient breakfast Pretty good snack Dinner, I would like to write disastrous but I refrain. 🫢 Buffet: some vegetables. Stop. Set menu. You don't choose. Poor raw material quality. Starters very bad (only for example: regenerated spring roll and I won't tell you about the rest...) First courses definitely without appeal. Seconds meh.. up and down Very very bad service. It's not the kids' fault as people but their absolute unpreparedness with customers. Which in a 4* is not acceptable. As well as very often finding dirty plates and cutlery. Finally the bill: I pay and notice the €5.30 for each bottle of water. I say nothing because it is of little use. I know the tradition of speculating on water but sometimes it goes too far. I expect a thank you and good trip from the Rottermaier at the reception but imagine that. To never again. I advise against it

We stayed in this hotel on Saturday night on the occasion of the Merano Wine festival and the conditions for spending a pleasant night were all there as upon our arrival the lady at the reception was really smiling, kind in all her explanations, the structure is she's very pretty. end of the positive notes. negative notes: we were told that from the garage we could directly access the floors through a door which however we found closed and consequently at one in the morning we walked our 70 meters in pitch darkness (no lighting on) and below the rain. Room 206: the hotel rules are clear, in all 4 star hotels it is mandatory that the bathrooms are complete with EVERYTHING, in 2023 being in the room and not having a BIDET really disgusts me!! Being thirsty I open the minibar which also had no courtesy water, ok, I call the reception to ask for water but no one answers and here too there is the obligation to have a person available who however was asleep ? At 8:30 in the morning the cleaning lady knocks waking us up.. 9.15am the same lady ENTERS the room without knocking and then leaves.. I leave every comment to you... never again
